Tuesday's class theme: BUGS!

On Tuesday's  Westin goes to library class. A glorious 30 minute class that features, songs, stories and shakers, in case you need to 'shake your wiggles out'. (And who doesn't need to shake their wiggles out?) This class is free and provided by our local library. Good. Stuff.

At the beginning of every class, they sing the 'Where is ___' song. Where they go around and introduce all of the kids. For example: 'Where is Westin? Where is Westin' (Westin should answer) 'Here I am! Here I am!', then the song continues 'How are you today, Westin? How are you today, Westin? Peek-a-boo! Peek-a-boo!'. The kids LOVE it....but a lot of the littles never answer with 'Here I  Am!'...Dalen has been working on this at home.
Dalen sings: Where is Westin? Where is Westin?.....Here I am! Here I am!
Westin: I know Dada. I play iPad.
Dalen sings: Here I am! Here I am!
Westin: I know you are here.

Who are we kidding. The library class is NOT about the reading or songs-it's ALL about the shakers...

There's an app for that....

If you are say a two year old who hearts dinos, for example, there's an app that let's you learn ALL sorts of kewl things about 'saurs'.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star....

Westin has quite the pipes, and has started singing 'Twinkle, twinkle little star'...sometimes he makes up his own words. Sometimes he stays true to the original, as in this version*.

The Egg Hunt!

During Westin's nap, the Easter Bunny came and left a lovely basket of goodies on the front steps...and a mess of eggs in the front yard. At first Westin just wanted to eat his chocolate bunny and play with his car and 'cycles', until he realized, 'Hey there are these crazy little eggs hidden all over the place!'. 'Whoa!'

Clearly, one can not hunt for eggs without a trusty assistant of the chocolate variety :)

Friday at the Park

Clearly, this going to the park thing is a hit...the fact that Dalen and Westin can go to the park in April is magical! Today's big find was an abandoned wiffle ball. It's not all about the 'swides' folks!

Hide and seek and 'peek a boo' type activities have become BIG in the Moore household.

Hi Mama!

Just when I'm knee deep in data/writing/meetings/wrangling students, I get these wonderful pictures of a wonderful little boy, and suddenly all of the busyness of the day melts away....

Westin LOVES saying, 'Echo' in these types of spaces.
