Our littlest boy is sitting now. He topples over after awhile no thanks to the weight of his head and the lack of excitement in the art of sitting, but hey, crawling is next and that is where the real excitement is. The exersaucer is a big hit these days too!

Passing the torch....
It has been extraordinarily difficult for me to keep up with blog posts....so Dalen will be behind many that you read..'Can you spot the eagle' is his first wonderful contribution to the blog..... Enjoy, fans of Westin and Webb!!
Can you spot the eagle?
Westin and Dada got to have some "just them" time recently. Westin had been non stop talking about bald eagles for weeks. So what do you do when your son talks about bald eagles? You go bald eagle searching even if it is 7degrees outside. Luckily we have lots of bald eagles in South Dakota. It was Westin's first bird watching experience and judging from the results it likely will not be the last. I think we found a new hobby!
Westin also watched some eagles fishing in the Missouri River and thought they should be catching sharks in the river instead of the usual catch. Eagles vs. sharks. What an imagination!

'Mama, I crashed the snowman'
We got our first dusting of snow late last week, and Saturday was a good day before the brutal cold of a South Dakotan winter set in. While I ran into lab quickly and Webb was napping happily inside, Westin and Dada played in the snow and made a snowman.
Westin Moore declared that the snowman 'scare-ray' and knocked it over. Really, he often builds things only to knock them over...when I got home from lab, he wanted to show me the snowman, so we walked to the front door, and I saw three distinct snowman balls strewn across the yard. I kind of looked at Westin. He just shrugs his shoulders and says, 'Mama I crashed the snowman'. Well then.

I dunno. That snowman does look a little 'scare-ray'.

Who wants hot chocolate??!!
Westin: Dada fix it.
Dalen: What do you need, buddy?
W: Plug it in. Batteries dead.
Dalen then had to explain that those kind of batteries didn't work that way. Seriously. He watches us plug in our iPads and iPhones, and more specifically, when his iPad screen goes black, his iPad gets plugged in to charge the battery. The connections that he's making are unreal! So very very clever!

Happy Baby-Webb turns 4 months old!
I don't know if I have ever met a happier baby than our little Webb. He is just so yummy! At 4 months, he weighs 16 lbs 8 oz (yes, for those keeping score at home, this is pretty much only 12 lbs less than his older brother Westin!!) and is 25 and 1/2 inches long. He can roll over, is known to sleep through the night at least a couple of days a week (!), and loves to laugh and smile at people. Big brother is very attentive and gets a kick out of entertaining Webb. Lots of love in this group!

Westin Moore is 3!
On November 24th, we celebrated Westin's 3rd birthday! G-pops was with us and we FaceTimed with Aunt Shannon and Uncle Blaine to sing Happy Birthday. This year's theme was dinosaurs. Westin is crazy about all things Dinosaurs.
Dalen: If Mama were a dinosaur what would she be?
Westin: A T-Rex, Dada (like duh. what a silly question)
D: If I were a dinosaur, what would I be?
W: A brachiosaurus
D: If Webber were a dinosaur, what would he be?
W: Apatosaurus.
D: If you were a dinosaur, what would you be?
W: Apatosaurus.

Stegosaurus also enjoyed b'day cake!
I made Westin (at his request; and yes, made, like from scratch, party people. Cake, icing and all) a chocholate cake with purple* icing. The dino's on top were a surprise.

Westin really got into unwrapping presents this year. He might have gotten into some Christmas presents and opened one...just because, it was wrapped right?
We are so proud of this little boy! At his 3 year appointment, he is 28 lbs and 3 ft 1 in (um, yes, exactly 2 feet shorter than his Mama. Don't judge, people). When asked how old he is, he always says 2...not really willing to give up a year! ... As his Mama, it fills my heart with happiness to see how this little baby has grown into a super kewl little boy.
Example of cleverness:
Dalen: Westin, do you know that dinosaurs are extinct?
Westin: Yes, Dada. Dinosaurs stopped from meteor fire.
There it is. Who knew, right??!! Well, this clever little boy did....

Happy Halloween, Mama!

The costume originally had a 'head', but it wouldn't stay put on this little Pteranodon's head
![]() |
Noni made this costume for Webb. It was perfect! Thank you, Noni!!!
This year Westin chose his own costume. We were a bit surprised that Westin passed up a T-Rex* costume, for a Tiny, the Pteranodon** costume, but it worked and he was super happy!! Webb was a dinosaur egg.
It was a beautiful and mild night and Westin really got into 'Trick-or-treating'! He would run up to houses saying, 'Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh Boy!'. He was so cute that many folks gave him extra candy***. And for those bold houses that had non-candy treats, he would stand there and ask, 'Where's the candy?'....clearly, we have to work on that. But he said thank you for everything and we almost made it completely around the block before he asked to go home. It was a great time and we were so happy that Aunt Shannon could share the evening with us!
*T-Rex is Westin's favorite dinosaur. He often stomps around the house, roaring and yelling, 'I'm a T-Rex!'.
**For those unfamiliar, Tiny is a character in PBS's Dinosaur Train. Whoever thought to marry dinosaurs and trains into one cartoon are pure magical geniuses!!!
***Seriously, extra candy for a two year old??!! Well, it gave us plenty
