Walking ol' Copper dog and Triceratops

It's still a bit chilly here in the Dakota tundra but that does not hinder our walks with Copper dog and Triceratops. Today we headed a few blocks down the street to campus. On the weekends we like to walk around the USD campus because it is so quiet and peaceful. The "no puddle left behind" policy was enforced today. We stomped them all!

Well, it's May and we woke up to several more inches of snow today. Before we go play outside in what I now think is the last snow of the year, we decided to make cookies. I haven't made homemade cookies in forever. Westin and I grabbed ingredients from the pantry and went to work. Didn't have an egg...no problem. I substituted applesauce and you would never know. I really like Bob's Red Mill 5 grain hot cereal for breakfast so I thought they would make a great cookie. The cookies turned out soooooo tasty. Butter and brown sugar don't make this cookie super healthy but using 5 whole grains as the base sure makes them wholesome.

Maybe winter is over?

Last time I said we were done with snow...well that was just not so. We had two more big winter snowstorms in April. South Dakota April records have been broken....however, all is well now, and Westin is riding his bike, in our wonderful spring weather. I think, I can safely say winter is over. I think?
Also....Webb had his 9 month well baby visit on Friday, and happily, we can report that we have a very healthy baby! Webb's stats were 21.2 lbs weight, 28 3/4 height, and head circ 18".

I'm shocked that Westin went down for his nap without one of his 'crew', Snake. Looks like Snake got to stay up and play.

Seussical

Tonight, Westin and Dada, went to Seuss Falls(Sioux) to see and listen to the musical Seussical. The show was at the Washington Pavilion which is a charming historic building located downtown. The theatre in the Washington Pavilion is wonderful. Seussical is a clever musical which seamlessly blends several of our Dr. Seuss favorites into one very entertaining musical. Westin was on the edge of his seat, clapping and cheering, every moment he could. A great night out in the "big city"!

A trip to the vet

Today, Copper dog, had his annual health exam/stock up on flea and heartworm meds/vaccine updates and I am happy to report our guy is healthy as can be. He needs to have his teeth brushed and lose some weight. Sounds similar to my usual health report...
Westin and Webb were very well behaved and Copper was more calm than usual. Maybe Copper knew how difficult it would be for me if all my boys acted up at the same time so he chose to lead by example. Surprisingly, today's vet visit was a rather enjoyable boys afternoon out. And rest assured, to all of the "fans of Copper" out there, he wants you to know, he is ready for a walk when he sees you.
Westin asked to take along a "saur", so the infamous Dimetrodon, joined us as well today....

Masters Sunday!

What a day! The Australians have a saying "always cut the tall poppy down" meaning mediocrity is good for society and communication. I learned this in a communications class while attending West Virginia University. However, in golf, there is not room for mediocrity and to be the "tallest poppy" is the ultimate goal. Today we celebrate the first Australian to win the Masters. Congrats to Adam Scott! It was a great day for sports! And as per usual, here are some pics of the boys doing their thing.
